Haiti

Today, “my heart is half a world away, with friends who are aggressively working to respond to the crisis in Haiti. I don’t know all those friends by name; I do know that I am thankful for their feet going in my stead, ambling through airports and stepping into rubble.” – Dan Wilt

A lot of us fall into this category of the Haiti relief effort – we are unable to go ourselves, but are thankful for those who are and our support is behind them. If you too are one of these people who can not be in Haiti to lend a hand, then the best you can offer is your prayers and finances, so please do pray. If you want to offer some financial support but have no idea where to start or how to do it, Tear Fund is a terrific organisation to go to.

To close this post, I think Dan Wilt says it best with this:

“True worship, in the face of great suffering, asks for an invitation into the pain that God and the sufferers carry. Simply ask, then simply respond. It is enough. In this journey of willingness, we find real prayers rising, authentic acts of physical and spiritual generosity, and the ability to partner with God in the ways in which He is inviting us.”

  1. There’s another great place to donate that is directly helping the orphans and babies, the weakest and most vulnerable to the taking of sex trafficking people: http://www.criout.org/Groups/1000010134/Crisis_Response_International.aspx
