Vineyard Training - FOUR Tracks
Vineyard Training's Interns Track develops and trains leaders who are able to give a year of their lives to this task. Interns will gain an appreciation of how the church works while deepening their understanding of the scriptures, church history and discipleship.
Who can do the Interns Track?
Participants in the Interns Track sense a call of God to leadership roles within our Vineyard churches. They are normally nominated by their own pastors, some of who are former interns themselves. It is also possible to do the Internship while serving as a missionary in another country.
How does the Interns Track work?
Participants in the Interns Track get to taste and see whether full-time ministry is right for them. This one-year Internship includes two block courses, and is two-thirds practical and one-third academic. The practical is work within the intern’s church, while the academic consists of studying Old and New Testaments, Early Church History and Spiritual Formation. Participants produce an assignment once a month, including journals.
We also offer a second year Level 5 Diploma in Christian Leadership. This is an internship with two thirds practical work within the intern's church and one-third academic, covering the subjects, Introduction to Ministry, Spiritual Growth and Discipleship, and Survey of the Old and New Testament.
Interns attend two four-day block courses in Papamoa, from February 19-22 and July 23-26, 2018.
Combining all four tracks, our intensives are a great opportunity to hear God, develop vision and gain a perspective on the wider Vineyard – while also getting the best hands-on teaching and ministry opportunities we can offer.
First Intensive: Auckland, April 13-14, 2018
Second Intensive: Stratford, August 31-September 1, 2018
Our online Learning Community fosters a sense of camaraderie and shared learning as together we read and wrestle with a variety of books, and tap into a wide range of resources – downloads, research, articles, videos and other material to help us grow and lead.
We don’t know it all, and we can’t do it alone. Therefore, all Four Tracks participants have mentors and coaches from their own churches, regular times with their pastors and access to our best and most experienced leaders within the Vineyard movement in New Zealand.
Participants regularly gather in cohorts around the country for lectures from New Zealand Vineyard leaders.
The Internship Track requires an average of 30 hours a week for practical work, study and assignments – leaving space for part-time work.
