URBAN VINEYARD

Urban Vineyard is a growing community of ordinary people whose lives have been impacted by Jesus. We want to know Jesus more, and help others come to know him too. We are focussed on “developing followers of Jesus through authentic Kingdom living.” We do this through doing life well together – being authentic, genuine and real. We value love, acceptance, and forgiveness, and remind each other that life is too short to be boring.
We are a regional church as well as a central city church.
People who come to Urban often comment on the quality of community they find here. They are welcomed and embraced, find acceptance and grace, and soon feel at home.

We meet twice on Sundays – at 10.15am and 5pm. The 10.15am service includes an action-packed kids’ programme, so it is very popular with families, while our 5pm service caters more for students and people without young children. Both services start with free espresso coffees and cakes in our café.
A typical gathering includes contemporary-style worship, followed by some Bible teaching that is accessible and applicable. We always finish with an opportunity to respond to God and receive from God.
We have midweek Connect groups that meet in people’s homes and places like pubs, cafes etc all over Auckland City, and regularly run courses in our “Life Can Be Better” track including personal growth, recovery groups, marriage courses, parenting courses etc. to help people grow personally, and in their relationships with people and God.

At Urban, our heart is to serve and bless our city and our local community and the people who come though our doors on Sundays and throughout the week. Check our website www.urbanvineyard.org.nz for what is currently happening, for what is coming up and for resources including podcasts.
We serve our local community in central Auckland in a number of ways. We provide free food to many of our neighbours through our food store Nourish, and we do a fortnightly food drop at a couple of nearby boarding lodges. We also often serve the community in simple, practical ways – like painting a local school and gardening at a residential centre for teenage mums. Our weekly Mainly Music group is also popular with local mums and their kids. They meet every Wednesday at Grey Lynn Library at 11am.

We also serve those in our church community by providing opportunities to grow spiritually and relationally.
There is a lot of joy in Urban – we are always thinking of fun ways to hang out together to help people make new friends and deepen existing relationships. We regularly have events like family picnics in the park, a Saturday night café with live DJs, beach walks, men’s fishing competitions and so it goes…
There’s always loads happening … so why not come and join us this Sunday? You would be so welcome.
